“The Feather and Father Gang” was a crime drama series that chronicled the tale of a woman lawyer who enlists the aid of her scam-artist father to crack criminal cases. This show was broadcast from December 1976 until July 1977; however, its airing times were shifted almost weekly, rendering it difficult for audiences to know the appropriate time to watch the series.

Critique targeted the show for attempting to replicate ‘Switch’ but failing to do so effectively. The frequent alterations in its airing schedule also contributed to the show’s inability to gain traction, leading to its cancellation following the airing of 14 episodes, with the final episode being broadcasted in July 1977.

The Incredible Voyage

‘The Fantastic Journey’ revolves around a family on an adventure to the Caribbean. Upon entering the treacherous Bermuda Triangle, they come across a green cloud that results in their shipwreck, leaving them marooned on an inescapable island. This island is trapped among various time zones.

Initially, the series featured an odd storyline, compounded by the producers’ conflicting ideas regarding its direction. Consequently, ‘The Fantastic Journey’ was discontinued in the middle of its season, with just 10 episodes broadcasted out of a planned 13.

The Show of Bob Crane

“The Bob Crane Show” is a comedic series on NBC focusing on Bob, a middle-aged man who leaves his monotonous work selling insurance to pursue medical education anew. During this journey, his spouse, played by Patricia Harty, becomes the family’s breadwinner, a role that was atypical for the era.

For the network, the show turned out to be a significant letdown, suffering from dismal viewership numbers and coming to an end after just 13 weeks. The absence of rapport among the cast was pinpointed as the reason for the show’s downfall, leading NBC to make the decision to axe it.

The Sonny Comedy Revue

Although it featured a well-known celebrity, ‘Sonny Comedy Revue’ struggled to capture the audience’s interest when it premiered on September 22, 1974. This was the same year Sonny and Cher’s marriage dissolved. Oddly enough, their split didn’t prevent them from each having their own show that year.

Broadcasted on ABC, the program’s strong focus on Sonny with minimal appearances by Cher led to a disinterested audience. Reviewers criticized the show for lacking humor and being difficult to endure, largely due to the glaring absence of Cher. It suffered from persistently low viewership numbers, culminating in its cancellation after just 13 episodes, with the series concluding in December of that same year.

Large John, Small John

‘Big John, Little John’ is a sitcom that centers on a 40-year-old teacher who becomes a 12-year-old boy after drinking from a magical fountain of youth. The transformation isn’t lasting and happens at the most awkward moments. Despite its imaginative storyline, the series only ran for a single season.

Making its debut on NBC in September 1976, the series was short-lived, lasting just 13 episodes before its cancellation in December of the same year, leading it to fade into obscurity. However, if you are still interested in giving it a viewing, the DVD was issued in 2009, and you might find it available.
