The day of delivering a baby is always an important day for both mother and father. They cannot forget that day for the rest of their lives. For some people, that day becomes even more memorable than they never wanted to forget it. The same thing as that happened to Lauren Herzog on the day of her daughter’s birth.
She was shocked to see what was under her daughter’s blanket, in which she was wrapped. She did not expect that to happen. It was such a shock that she thought that maybe her exhausted mind was playing tricks on her.

5. Lauren Was Exhausted
Raising kids is a difficult job, even if it’s just been few hours of the baby’s birth. Few hours old babies also need to be fed and changed. They are needed to be taken care of when they cry. Lauren was exhausted because of all that.
All the stress and pain from delivery was already bringing her down. She also wanted to take care of her by herself, which exhausted her even more. Her aunt noticed her tiredness and called the nurse, so she could take care of the baby for a while and her niece could rest a bit.

Cuddling your baby is not just your favorite thing to do, but also your child’s. Kids want to stay as close to their parents as they could, especially the newborns. Being at the hospital could be a nightmare. There is always so much stuff you have to do when you are admitted to the hospital. It becomes challenging if you do not get any help. Lauren was lucky that she had such a great boyfriend and a helpful family. She was more impressed by the nurse staff, though. Nurses being professional, knew better how to handle her and her baby. They were helpful and kind. She was so impressed that she mentioned in one of her YouTube videos that she wished she could take one of the nurse homes with her.
8. The Surprise Awaiting
Lauren was delighted and all involved with her daughter. She took all the help she could from the nurses. One nurse showed her how to swaddle the baby. She said in her video that one nurse helped her a lot. She almost forgot how to do it. Furthermore, she would not swaddle her son Kaden very often.
She needed to practice it again, and she was lucky that the nurse showed her. Lauren was so much involved in taking care of the baby that she did not notice anything. She watched closely the nurse changing the baby’s clothes, but her exhausted mind did not pick on anything.

Lauren was so much exhausted at this stage. She did so much already, and there was still so much to do. The process of delivering the baby and then nursing her took all of her energy. But she still wanted to do all the work by herself for her daughter.

Every family member wanted to get a closer look at baby Everly. They wanted to see her cute face. Lauren felt the air changed in the room. Something was disturbing the environment. Lauren’s “spidey sense” was at its peak. She could feel something apart from routine was going on. She was getting suspicious with every passing minute.
She was too worn out to find out about it, but she knew something was unusual. She was happy to have her daughter in her arms. All the people she cared about were around her, especially her boyfriend, but she could sense something was troubling him.
12. Revealing The Baby
Baby Everly was still wrapped in the blanket. All of the people around them were getting impatient. They wanted to see the full baby; her outfit, her cute little hands, and her feet. Lauren was holding her baby close to her. It was a mother’s instinct to protect her child.

Lauren was just trying to remove the blanket when she realized that the blanket was wrapped too tightly. She got worried that her daughter was breathing correctly or not. The nurse wrapped her way too tight for a baby. She thought that if the nurse had done it intentionally?

Lauren was trying to unwrap her daughter as quickly as possible, so she could breathe properly. She thought that Everly might not be getting enough oxygen in her body because of the tight blanket. She was just a few hours old; a constricted environment was not good for her.

It could be so painful that women might hallucinate things. She was already feeling so many emotions from the birth of her daughter. She thought that she was just getting emotional, and it may not be accurate.

Lauren let a joyous and surprising scream out. Her confusion was gone now. It was now clear to everyone that what the surprise was. Lauren’s expression told everyone that how shock and excited, she was. All her friends and family surrounding her were surprised. They were happy for her. She could not believe that it was actually happening.

Chad did on waste any time. He went on one knee. Lauren was excited and nervous at the same time. She did not believe that it was happening. She got even more surprised when Chad took a ring from his newborn baby. Lauren had no idea that her daughter was holding the ring all this time.
The nurse that changes her outfit also put the ring in baby Everly’s hand and closed her fist tight to make sure it does not fall. She was so happy. Even though she said yes already, she still said it one more time. She did not believe that she will become Mrs. Mcdevitt very soon.

Everyone cheered for them. They were congratulating the couple. They all were celebrating the most important day of their lives. It was the moment Lauren and Chad would never forget. Lauren looked at her onesie one more time, happy tears in her eyes. She read the proposal, “Mommy, will you marry daddy?” one more time.
They were elated with so many blessings in one day. They just gave birth to their second child, and now they were engaged.
