Movie: 1997 – Anaconda
There are a lot of movies out there that use scenes that were not originally what the director or actors planned on using until the editing process. Sometimes real life interferes or improvisation changes the way a scene plays out. Here are some of the top twenty film bloopers that made the final movie cut.
1. Django Unchained Scene with Leonardo DiCaprio
Django Unchained was an intense adventure and rescue mission movie to save a former slave’s wife from being kept by a ruthless slave plantation owner. Leonardo DiCaprio took a supporting role in the film as the slave plantation owner. Slightly a surprising decision for an actor who is normally the lead in most of his films, but he wanted to work with Quentin Tarantino.
During one scene in the film Calvin Candie slams a hand on the table. Leo cut his hand on some broken glass 2hen he did that. Then he continued to act out the scene with a bleeding hand and rubbed blood across poor Kerry Washington’s face. He wasn’t sure if this cut would be in the final movie, but Quentin Tarantino loved it and kept it in.
2. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Gandalf Scene
In the Lord of the Rings, Gandalf is often the biggest character in the room at the start of the film when he’s visiting his Hobbit friends Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins. The actor Ian McKellan was expected to accidentally hit his head on a ceiling fixture while he was doing a scene inside the Hobbit’s home.
He ended up hitting his head twice in a row. Once as planned. Then he turned and hit his head again. The actor stayed in character and kept going with the scene, and the director Peter Jackson liked this cut and added that take for the movie.
3. The Princess Diaries Slip on the Bleachers
The Princess Diaries lead character Mia Thermapolis was made to be clumsy and awkward. One of her clumsy moments was on accident though. When she is talking to her friend Lily on the bleachers about being a guest on her TV show, the actress slipped because it had been raining on the bleachers while they were filming.
The character stayed in character for the most part when it happened, so they were able to add it into the finished movie. The director felt it fit the character really well, and it looked really natural since it was a completely unscripted moment.
4. Star Wars I Love You Scene
In the fifth episode of Star Wars, Han Solo was supposed to tell Princess Leia I love you too after she calls it out to him before he gets cryogenically frozen. Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher did various takes, yet the difficult scene just wasn’t working no matter what they did. In the end, Harrison Ford changed his response to I know. The director decided that was perfect and was more fitting for the character. He kept the improvisation in the final cut of the film.
5. Mrs. Doubtfire Icing Mask Scene
In Mrs. Doubtfire Robin Williams had a tough game keeping the icing mask in place on his face under the hot production lights. It ended up dripping into the tea cups. So he played along with it and improved that it was good in tea as well. Next one is Indiana Jones.
6. Indiana Jones Fight Scene
Harrison Ford was suffering from severe food poisoning when he was supposed to have a sword fight with one of the bad guys. He just wasn’t feeling up for fighting. He ended up just shooting him with his stunt gun. They kept it in the movie because it made more sense since Indiana Jones had a gun and the man with the sword did not.
7. The Wizard of Oz
The Wizard of Oz is a classic piece of American cinema. The movie had a few scenes that were not perfect, but they ended up using them anyway because of some problems with special effects going wrong. When the Wicked Witch first shows up in Munchkinland she appears in a puff of smoke. The scene was extremely poorly done. You can see the trapdoor from where the smoke was rising up from.
The actress that played the Wicked Witch was severely injured with facial burns when they were trying to film the scene. The burns were so bad she wasn’t able to film for two months. They ended up having to use the scene they filmed even though it was more of a rehearsal try at it.
8. Pretty Woman Add In Scene
Julia Roberts is famous for her smile and her laugh in movies she’s starred in. The actress was tricked into laughing when filming Pretty Woman when Richard Gere’s character snaps a box shot when she’s peering inside. She laughed loudly, so the director kept that scene in his final movie.
9. Casino Royale Beach Scene
Agent 007 wasn’t supposed to walk up on the beach. Daniel Craig was supposed to swim up to the beach. The water was shallow enough where he was able to just stand and walk, so he did that during one of the takes. Have a look at the next one: The Dark Knight Joke Improvisations.

Heath Ledger improvised a number of the Joker scenes. One scene that he improvised was clapping while he’s in a holding cell. And another scene where he is frustrated that the explosions didn’t go off as much as he wanted them to, and he fiddles with the remote in frustration.
11. Bridget Jones’s Diary Fight
The ending of Briget Jones’s Diary see two of the main characters love interests getting into a fight. The actors didn’t choreograph it as they felt the two characters likely never got in a fist fight, except maybe as small children. So they just improvised a fight like they were two kids fighting poorly on the schoolyard.

The Starlord character Peter Quill was supposed to pass an orb to the collector. Chris Pratt managed to drop it and then catch it again. It fit into the way the movie plays out, so they kept it in. Have a look at the next one: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

During the filming of the Harry Potter series the actors were encouraged to add in lines and improvise whenever they felt like they should. The directors of the films kept a number of the scenes that were improvised. Lucius Malfoy for instance added in a line that was a bit sarcastic that hopefully Harry Potter will always be around to save the day at the end of the second film. Daniel Radcliffe added in: I will be in response to the improvised line.

Do you remember this important movie? Titanic is one of the greatest movies of all time. The director of the Titanic movie said that Kate Winslet improvised the line when the ship was sinking that her and Jack were back to where they first met in the movie. Do you remember Ben Stiller in this movie, called Zoolander? In Zoolander, actor Ben Stiller says the line why male models twice. This was no accident because he had forgotten his line. This was a great movie, don’t you think? The scene where Thor hangs up his hammer on a coat rack was completely improvised by Chris Hemsworth. He only meant to be funny, but the director liked the scene. We know that the actor is very funny, so that is just great for his character as well.

The film Rocky was extremely low budget, so the director had the Stallone run through a busy street without hiring any of the people on as extras. They didn’t even know they were being filmed. Someone in the market area tossed Stallone an orange while he was running by. They kept it in the final movie.
