40 Harry Potter Stars and how they look now

Our beloved Harry Potter film stars have long since left the franchise and moved on to bigger and better things. Some, though, have not been seen on film much since the franchise ended. Sadly, one or two have passed away. One has even been to prison.

For many reasons, unknown to us, these twenty-one celebrities have found fame, fortune, and solace on and off-screen. We cannot wait for you to view the stats on some of your favorite Harry Potter franchise alum.

1. Neville Longbottom Played by Matthew Lewis

After trying out for the role, Matthew Lewis landed the slot of Neville Longbottom at the ripe age of twelve. Several candidates would also have made an excellent Neville. Matthew was selected and it should be no surprise as to why.

While a bit clumsy and awkward in the first few films, Lewis surprised producers by becoming one of the best students of Gryffindor. That is, he was no longer the same awkward kid who may have been nervous to appear on film. Longbottom is one of the world’s most beloved Harry Potter characters.

Since leaving the set of Harry Potter, Matthew Lewis has appeared in many films and on television. These include roles in The Syndicate, BlueStone 42, Me Before You, and Terminal. What a career this young man has embarked upon.

2. Delores Umbridge Played by Imelda Staunton

Those who read the books before seeing the films were not disappointed by Staunton’s portrayal of Umbridge. She played the role perfectly. After leaving the set of Harry Potter, Imelda received many invitations to appear in films both on and off the large screen.

Having given outstanding performances in many of these films, she was nominated for the Olivier Award five times. Staunton did not take home the award the first four times she has received the nom. Imelda finally took home the Olivier for her portrayal in Gypsy.

3. Pansey Parkinson Played by Scarlett Byrne

FALLING SKIES

Scarlett Byrne began was cast in many roles before she became Pansey Parkinson in three of the Harry Potter films. Byrne is one of the more successful actors from the franchise. She has since been featured in many films.

Scarlett Byrne is an actor who does not seem to want to stop any time soon. She will be in many more films. Since leaving the Potter films in her dust, Byrne has been seen in films such as The Vampire Diaries, Falling Skies, Runaways, and Skybound. She is married to Cooper Hefner.

4. Ron Weasley played by Rupert Grint

Ron Weasley is Harry’s best friend. Grint landed the role when he was twelve. Many believe Potter would not have carried out all that he did without the help of Ron Weasley. Everyone needs a best friend to aid in their accomplishments.

Since the series of witchcraft has ended, Grint has been building a reputation as a respected film star. You may not have seen him appear in anything—or just did not recognize him. Rupert has had starring roles in films such as Snick Note, Snatch, and Servant. He is expected to continue landing lead roles.

5. Parvati Patil Played by Shefali Chowdhury

Chowdhury portrayed the role of Patil with perfection. She appeared in three of the eight films. Shefali was featured in The Goblet of Fire, The Order of Phoenix, and The Half-Blood Prince. Many Harry Potter fans have missed her since the series ended.

Since leaving the set of Potter, Chowdhury has not been cast in many roles. She has been featured in three films. Two of these movies were released in 2015. The final theatrical debut made it to the big screen in 2019. Many fans miss the beautiful and talented Shefali Chowdhury.

6. Mad-Eye Moody Played by Brendon Gleeson

Brendon Gleeson was one of two Gleeson’s to appear in the Harry Potter films. His real-life son, Domhnall Gleeson, also appeared in the films. Mad-Eye Moody is the one who helped Harry in many adventures. Sadly, though, the character was killed off after Deathly Hallows Part One.

What has Brendon Gleeson been up to since leaving the Potter films? He has been seen in many films. These include Calvary, Edge of Tomorrow, and Paddington 2. The Irish-born actor enjoys his work and it shows with his outstanding performances.

7. Young Tom Riddle Played by Hero Fiennes Tiffin

The adult Tom Riddle was played by the uncle of Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Ralph Fiennes. Tiffin was an unforgettable part of the Harry Potter series. He landed the part of Young Tom Riddle because of the resemblance he shares with his uncle.

What has Hero Tiffin been up to since? He has been slated to appear in the sequels of the once slammed by critics’ film, After. The role he played in After was a romantic drama alongside fellow actor Josephine Langford.

8. Vincent Crabbe Played by Jamie Waylett

Vincent Crabbe is introduced to Harry Potter in the first film. The character is a renowned character played by Jamie Waylett. The series did not end with Crabbe in it. He was killed off in the seventh film. Jamie Waylett has not been seen since.

Unfortunately, Jamie Waylett found himself in trouble with the law. He was ordered to serve two years in prison. With that, his career came to a screeching halt. Waylett has not been seen much on or off film since being released.

9. Harry Potter Played by Danielle Radcliffe

Radcliffe was only eleven when he became Harry Potter. The role would change his life forever. That is, playing Harry Potter amassed Danielle much fame and plenty of fortune to go with it. Many criticized Radcliffe’s portrayal in the third film. By the fifth, though, he won awards for his role in the film.

Danielle Radcliffe has appeared in a variety of big-screen roles. These include parts in horror films as well as dramedies. Despite the critics of his performances in the third Harry Potter installment, Radcliffe has shown he is a man of many talents.

10. Petunia Dursley Played by Fiona Shaw

Where would Harry have been without his Aunt Petunia mistreating him? Dursley longed to be part of the magical world that Potter came from. She, though, was excluded. Her work since leaving the series has garnered new fans from around the world, won her a BAFTA, and two Emmy nominations.

11. Dean Thomas Played by Alfred Enoch

Enoch was thirteen when he became Dean Thomas. Like many of his Harry Potter peers, Alfred found moderated to serious fame after the series ended. Enoch has been seen in many Shakespeare plays as well as major motion pictures.

The actor does not seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Enoch has yet to win any awards for his performances. But he has shown that there is more to him than being a child actor. We look forward to seeing Enoch in many more roles in the coming years.

12. Professor Flitwick Played by Warwick Davis

Where would Harry Potter and his peers have been without their beloved professors? Professor Flitwick is one of the main characters in the film series. The role Davis played as Flitwick was the Headmaster of the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He is a fan favorite.

Since the Harry Potter series has ended, you can find Warwick Davis in many films. These include the Return of the Jedi and a recurring role in Leprechaun. Warwick Davis was born with a rare form of dwarfism. He has created a foundation that makes sure all actors under five-foot are represented properly.

13. Vernon Dursley Played by Richard Griffiths

Many Harry Potter fans will remember Richard Griffiths for his loving role of Uncle Vernon in the Potter franchise. But Griffiths did not come to fame with the series. He was known in the business long before the role of Vernon Dursley.

After Harry Potter ended, Griffiths joined the cast of another successful Hollywood franchise, Pirates of the Caribbean. Sadly, the world lost an excellent and hard-working man in 2013. Richard Griffiths passed away from complications following heart surgery.

14. Albus Dumbledore Played by Michael Gambon

Michael Gambon played our beloved professor Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films. Who could forget the remarkable long, white beard of Professor Dumbledore? Many of us may have seen Gambon in films since leaving the franchise.

We would not recognize him if we did see him in other films. Michael has shaved his long beard and looks unrecognizable with no facial hair. Gambon is an Irish and British actor known mostly for his role as Professor Dumbledore.

15. Remus Lupin Played by David Thewlis

To many Harry Potter fans, it appeared, in the beginning, the Lupin was an enemy of Harry’s. But in the later films, Remus became one of the Potters’ most beloved allies. Many fans of the series grew to love Thewlis as Lupin when at first, they hated Remus.

Despite his first audition with the series being for Peter Pettigrew, Thewlis was loved and cast by directors as the beloved Remus Lupin. He has appeared in many films and television series since the Potter franchise ended. Thewlis is expected to appear in Avatar 3 next.

16. Gregory Goyle Played by Josh Herdman

Herdman is a follower of his father’s. Josh learned to become an actor but also learned mixed-martial arts. He is most well-known for his role as Gregory Goyle in the Potter films. Since the franchise has ended, you may find Herdman in many television and film roles. He has kept busy.

17. Draco Malfoy Played by Tom Felton

Where would the Harry Potter franchise have been without the dreadful Draco Malfoy? Tom Felton did a fantastic job playing this villain in the series. Despite his success with the franchise, Felton did not garner the fame that should have come from his role.

Regardless we can find Felton in other successful franchises throughout Hollywood. These will include the reboot of the Planet of the Apes series. He has garnered some success in the industry, but not much fame.

18. Bill Weasley Played by Domhnall Gleeson

One of the youngest members of the cast for the Harry Potter franchise, Domhnall Gleeson is still only in his thirties. The youngster has found much success in the industry. His role as Bill Weasley in the Potter series garnered his success.

Domhnall’s role as the oldest and most attractive of all the Weasley siblings helped catapult him into fame. He will always be remembered for the role that has made him famous, Bill Weasley. That is, despite being in many film and television roles since the franchise ended.

19. Victor Krum Played by Stanislav Yanevski

Stanislav Yanevski is a Bulgarian-born actor. He did not garner much fame and fortune from the Harry Potter series. But what he did gain as much attention from the young ladies in the world. They all watched in awe as he took Hermione to the ball.

Since the franchise has ended, there has not been much that can be said about Yanevski. His acting resume is thin, to say the least. Fans of the Potter series might remember his role in a few episodes of Undercover or Sofia Residents in Excess.

20. Fleur Delecour Played by Clemence Poesy

Clemence Posey has become a well-known actor after arriving in the Harry Potter series during the fourth film, The Goblet of Fire. The role of Fleur Delecour was created to supply some rivalry between Harry and his classmates at Hogwarts.

Since leaving the successful Potter series, Posey has appeared in many film roles. The latest was a 2020 film, Tenet? Besides films, Posey has been featured on many British and International magazine covers. The talented actor is up-an-coming when it comes to the roles she will play in the future.

21. Fred Weasley Played by James Phelps

James Phelps portrayed one-half of the Weasley twins. But we almost did not see either actor as they were in the Potter franchise. The duo ditched school one day and opted instead for the Harry Potter auditions. It was a bold move that landed the two in the franchise.

Since Harry Potter, Phelps has been seen in many films and television roles. There seems to be no slowing down Phelps, as he continues his acting career in many new roles. It is said that Phelps obtained the role of Fred Weasley because his personality was like Fred’s. He only was ordered to die his hair from brown to ginger.
